Mechanism of Action & Benefits

• Forms distinctive canoe-shaped parasporal spores and secretes heat-stable antimicrobial peptides (such as laterosporulin) with broad-spectrum activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria
• Produces chitinase and alkaline protease that degrade fungal cell walls and nematode cuticles, giving it clear antifungal and nematicidal activity used in biocontrol formulations
• Secretes insecticidal proteins active against dipteran and coleopteran larvae; after ingestion, spores disrupt the midgut epithelium, the basis for its use as a biopesticide against mosquito, fly, and beetle pests
